Navigation is one thing, propulsion within a lifetime between two stars systems is quite another challenge!
Maybe they could get David Dechovny to star as a propulsion professor from another university.

Not fond of so-called UFO films, but I’d pay good money to watch Gillian Anderson read the telephone book.

Pure science fiction, no basis in reality. If Gillian Andersen is still hot, I’ll go see it.

Maybe “they” were familiar with the quote attributed to Mark Twain: “When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it’s always 20 years behind the times.”

The fine structure constant relates to the strength of the electromagnetic force between elementary particles. Research has at times suggested that this constant might vary across the universe Reaching new levels of absurdity, if it varies than it's not a constant now is it?

They are just doing the same thing I did when I was flying small aircraft 40 or more years ago. When I got lost, I flew down around the town watertower to read the town name to find out where I was.
