21st Century Constitutional Amendment:
If youve turned your state into a sh#thole you may not move to any other state except California, New York, or New Jersey without statewide voter approval.
Actually, I have a better idea. Should a state turn itself into a -- (AHEM! COUGH! COUGH!) -- hellhole, the federal government may take the following actions.
- Congress may strip a state of its statehood and return it to territorial status by an act of Congress signed by the president. One star will be temporarily removed from the US flag.
- The former state's congressmen and senators will be expelled.
- The former state will not participate in presidential elections.
- The president will appoint a territorial governor, although the citizens may elect a territorial legislature.
- The territory will elect a constitutional convention to write a state constitution, after which the territory may petition Congress for readmission to the Union.
