America is moving towards a kind of fascism - big government and state control over much of the economy and behavior of individuals, with support and buy-in from well-positioned businessmen and elitist cronies

“America is moving towards a kind of fascism”

I think the only difference with the old fascism is replacing the single leader with a rotating puppet that is elected every four years in a extravaganza election that provides an illusion of the power of the people. Look at how well the Bushs, Obamas, and the Clintons get along. They temporarily lost control in 2016.

The most powerful force in all levels of government (excluding, of course, the military) is a "branch" that didn't even exist a century ago --- the unelected, unaccountable "administrative" branch.

Seriously. You can call the President or any elected member of Congress or any USSC justice and even your local mayor just about any name in the book ... but don't try that with an IRS office administrator or even your local zoning commissioner!
