McCain wanted this gaudy spectacle of a funeral to be political. He just didn’t count on it falling on the Labor Day weekend. His last shot at attention is being upstaged by local events and grilled hamburgers.

Below is a link to the money shots. I have read the account by the emcee of the event. According to him, it was not scripted, but went off the rails and nobody had the sense or ability to stop it. Fortunately, it backfired on them and they lost Wellstone's seat. I'm hoping the McCain fiasco goes the same way.
Being emotional does not condone being disrespectful.
Bringing down a person in order to elevate her father is disrespectful and discredits the emotional message.
