Sure the did, probably by the thousands. Southerners also bought their way out of the draft also probably by the thousands. So what, the draft laws drawn up by both the Confederate Congress and the United States Congress included provision allowed for that. So what. No proof that huge numbers of immigrants were drafted fresh off the boat as you have insinuated. Who is blinkered by partisan thinking.
