I love 'Golden Age' movies and movie stars. I wish we had a permanent section/ page for all those of us who watch them on TCM and love them. We could have a ball discussing them.As they said on TMC recently; 'They didn't know how to blow up things back then, so they just made good movies'. :D
I learned to love those old 'Golden Age' movies from my grandma who baby sat me all the time when I was growing up- (she watched them all the time- wouldn't watch anything else)and I've actually become a minor authority on them. (I can even name all Liz Taylor's husbands! Go ahead. Ask me. :D
Those were the days when they not only made good movies, but the stars enchanted with their beauty, sophistication, clothes etc.
Most of today's 'stars' look like anybody off the street! Where are your Cary Grants, Robert Taylors (Known as the man with the perfect profile), Marilyn Monroes (There will never be another), Rita Hayworths, etc ??
