Thing is when italian women cooked for familes, way back in the horrid, oppressive years of America, they demanded everyone “eat, eat, you’re skin and bones.” then got catty at people when they got fat.
I am from italian background, its typical.

This is actually an erroneous and ignorant statement. Italian food is not fatty, and it is not as carb laden as most people think. See Mediterranean diet for accurate information on why it is healthier than soul food.
