He should do a genealogy research on each and every member of the Lilly Group. Someone surely owned slaves or was in the KKK. The originator was Dr. Lilly, who fought on the Union side but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have have an ancestor or relative or close friend who bedded a slave. Hey, they started this game. I remember my grandfather, a small town mayor in Georgia during the 50’s, telling me “ Remember all Blacks aren’t Nixxers and all Nixxers aren’t Black”. This was from a man that during the depression had ALL the local clergy over Sunday afternoon for dinner to discuss who needed help in town, and my grandmother always had a glass of milk and a peanut butter sandwich for ANYONE hungry during the depression. And the KKK weren’t allowed into the town. His philosophy was that they were all poor together. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and a deacon of the church. A man of character and principal.
Here’s the story as it unfolded -
So last week Bob Lamey, a longtime Indianapolis Colts game caller retired suddenly. Local news dug in and discovered he used the “n-word” (gasp) in a private discussion with some other Colts employees while retelling of an interview from back in the 80s where somebody used the “n-word”. This upset some snowflakes in the office and they threatened to turn it into a major case so he resigned/retired.
The Colts later come out and condemn his use of the word.
Wish-TV digs in further and finds the radio interview - in the 80s - where he said “”I responded by explaining that I was a foreign driver now in America, driving for an American team, with an American crew, and with an American sponsor – and that if things did not go well, the only ‘n-word in the wood pile’ would be me.”
WishTV promptly condemns Derek Daly and announces they will no longer work with him (for a 30+ year old remark not used in a racist context)
And the whole city goes bonkers.
