McCain dying NOW, and the replacement appointee, will give the new appointee a very slight edge in seniority over whoever is selected as Jeff Flake’s replacement in the November election.

At this point, there is no real certainty that Flake’s successor will be a Republican. Things are very much in a state of flux.

Unless the governor appoints someone entirely temporary. For example, he appoints Cindy on the condition that she doesn’t run, or he appoints former Sen. Kyl to fill until an election can be held.

One theory is wait until Wednesday and appoint the second-place finisher in the Ward-McSally race.

Terrible thing, being in a state of flucks.

I would say Ducey should consider appointing himself.

Would not like to see any of McCain’s family be appointed.

Hoping that McSally wins Tuesday and in November.
