a 10yo does not have a mature enough brain to 'know' that the teacher was not serious when threatening violence. And in fact, violence was acted out by causing the child to fill a page with the word 'ma'am' and then the definition, as if it were a dirty word - during class, extending the ridicule and harassment the entire class period. Fire the teacher and don't let her work with children again. She can move to Canada and try to destroy their culture instead.
Adults should NEVER use sarcasm on children, anyway. Their brains are still being “wired”, and sarcasm sends mixed signals. Adults love to use sarcasm, because we find it witty, and hitting a bullseye, but some studies show that sarcasm can be a factor in the development of schizophrenia. I would think a teacher, who had to have had at least one college course on Human Growth and Development, would know that. (Though Lord only knows what such a course looks like in this gender bending culture) And I’m not being sarcastic.
