The American Architects of The South-African Catastrophe
Mises Wire ^ | June 9, 2017 | Ilana Mercer

Yes, it has happened. A mere 23 years after the 1994 transition, in South Africa, to raw ripe democracy, six years following the publication of a wide-ranging analysis of that catastrophe, Into the Cannibal's Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa, a Beltway libertarian think tank has convened to address the problem that is South Africa.

The reference is to an upcoming CATO “Policy Forum,” euphemized as “South Africa at a Crossroad.” One of the individuals to headline the “Forum” is Princeton Lyman, described in a CATO email tease as having “served as the U.S. Ambassador to South Africa at the time of the transfer of power from white minority to black majority.” At the “Forum,” former ambassador Lyman will be discussing “America’s original hopes for a new South Africa and the extent to which America’s expectations have been left unfulfilled.” (Italics added.)

The chutzpah!

The CATO Institute’s disappointment in the South Africa the United States helped bring about is nothing compared to the depredations suffered by South Africans, due to America’s insistence that their country pass into the hands of a voracious majority. Unwise South African leaders acquiesced. Federalism was discounted. Minority rights for the Afrikaner, Anglo and Zulu were dismissed...

Not one mention of the Soviet Union and its role in hijacking the anti-apartheid movement for the Communist Party of SA and training up the radical leaders who continue to Bolshevize the country today. Pathetic work. Sick of the America blame game.

They didn't hijack anything.

The ANC was Communist, allied with Communists-they were part of their ruling coalition, IIRC-and Mandela was a protege of Castro.

The Soviets were the ANC’s necessary support and patron. They were directly involved in buffing up and funding Cuba as well...

The Soviets were in constant contact with and overseeing the training of ANC leaders.

Fastforward to now: KGB Putin is using white Boer farmers as pawns by resettling them in *annexed* Crimea. Its Bolshevik land redistribution on his part and there are enough deceived Westerners willing to submit to the propaganda and view Putin aa a savior.

Putin is currently reviving Cold War antics of arming, aiding, and abetting with radical black govts all over Africa from Sudan to Central Africa Republic. Russia continue to seek lucrative nuke deals and ties with the current corrupt South African regime as well.

In 1968 (and for years thereafter) Princeton Lyman was a part of the State Department cabal that proudly carried the Defeatest label in the Viet Nam war. The fact that he was in South Africa at the turn of events there was perfect timing for a man whose political philosophy never saw a glass half full, or half empty, but totally empty. The fact that he is still spouting off indicates that old swampers never die...

These were the Clinton years. Of course this transition be handled stupidly, with the baser instincts of Mandela’s goons ruling the day.

But it began under George Herbert Walker Bush.

This is a bipartisan problem.

Even Trump's own administration is working to undermine him, like termites.

I’m not a big fan of GHWB. I can’t see though, that he meant for it to be THIS bad. I feel that he has a glimmer of conscience where the Left has absolutely none.
