Now that the schools have broken the Labor Day threshold on getting your kids back, they will continue to move the start of the school year up 1 week every year until they have them year round. Which sadly, is what most parents want. It’s much easier that way. Childhood summers are gone, a thing of the past, replaced by perpetual school related “camps”.

In other words, stuff we do everyday at our Trail Life USA troop.
A few weeks ago, we had a week of what we called Man Camp with about 100 young men.
We went through 7000 rounds of .22, 1500 12 gauge shells and clays, shot countless arrows, threw tomahawks, climbed rockwalls, explored a wild cave etc. The boys built rafts and had an epic sea battle in the lake complete with over 1000 water balloon “cannonballs”
They all came home in one piece and are already making plans for next year.
