Most large venues have an ASCAP license and have paid the appropriate fee. (yearly) It pretty much gives them free reign to play current music available in their territory. If you hear it on the radio, you can play it at the venue.

And sending a letter is symbolic. Aerosmith’s legal team would know if there was a violation and would be sending a lawsuit.

Spot on. Over dealt with music liscensing before. These “artists” want blanket protection and their involvement with ASCAP/BMI gives them exactly that but at the cost of them losing discretion over who uses it. So yeah Steven, you are getting paid so STFU. Aerosmith, great band when they are all coke heads, Sobersmith was awful. Haven’t bought an album by them since Night in the Ruts. Tyler has gone country western to add more years to his career. I’ll pass....
