My daughter worked as a drug and alcohol councilor. She said that pot abusers were the most difficult to treat because none of them thought their abuse was a problem. She said that people being treated for alcohol, heroin, meth, coke and other things realized that they had issues and needed help.

Not as if most pot users don’t use other drugs.

This has been my wife's and my experience as well. People are willing to admit that they have problems with alcohol and other substances. But it makes no difference how bad their issue is, very few will admit that they have a problem with marijuana. And we are talking about people who sometimes literally do nothing but smoke or ingest marijuana all day long every day and are having significant health issues related to their usage.

Most of the marijuana advocates here know people like this or have been or are currently in similar situations, but they refuse to admit any of it. This refusal to face a reality that almost all adults are aware of should be one of the most troubling warning signs regarding marijuana legalization. Legalization proponents lie even about fundamentals which are common knowledge.
