Really??? 40 years??? Much bolder and more specific claims have been made in other threads on Free Republic but, T-Bone Texan said in post 26,
“There is a component in pot that that has anti-cancer properties - It could possibly save countless lives and decrease suffering in a big way.
I'm glad to see you admit that, even if you did so in a dismissive and smart alecky way.
You should want people to suffer and die early, because to do otherwise is against the law, said no normal conservative ever.”
Chemo therapy has anti-cancer properties, and I doubt he’d call that harmless too.
Don’t get me wrong: I am an unabashed supporter of full nationwide legalization.
But I don’t believe it harmless.
And I also don’t believe it as harmful to society as the War on Pot.
It’s about relative harm.
If people want to, and do, smoke pot I believe that is less harmful than a government desirous and ABLE to prevent it. And, I believe it less harmful than myriad other drugs, both legal and illegal.
“More recently, scientists reported that THC and other cannabinoids such as CBD slow growth and/or cause death in certain types of cancer cells growing in lab dishes. Some animal studies also suggest certain cannabinoids may slow growth and reduce spread of some forms of cancer.”
And, according to the American Cancer Society, marijuana show promise in the direct treatment of cancer.
So, perhaps, you owe the T-Bone an apology.
