Hmm...according to the Bible, virtuous women have always been rare.

As King Solomon asked in Proverbs 31:10

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."

He goes further in Ecclesiastes 7:28

"While I was still searching but not finding-- I found one upright man among a thousand, but not one upright woman among them all."

Then again he himself had an issue with monogamy, perhaps that's why...
