Washington (AFP) - Former CIA directors and another half dozen of America's most senior spies have issued an unprecedented condemnation of President Donald Trump, after his decision to blacklist their colleague John Brennan.
In a statement, ex-CIA bosses appointed by Republican and Democratic presidents -- including Robert Gates, George Tenet, Porter Goss, Leon Panetta and David Petraeus -- denounced Trump's decision to strip Brennan of his security clearance.

Petraeus retired from the Army on 31 August 2011. Benghazi didn't happen until 11 September 2012, by which time Petraeus was DCI. DCI is not in the chain of command.
That said, it's amusing what pops up when you google his indiscreet girlfriend's name.

It seems to let them be able to funnel government money/contracts to the corporations they work for after they leave. It’s a swamp thing.
I think it’s becoming clear with only a few exceptions our entire government is hopelessly corrupt and has been that way for some time.

John Brennan wasn’t “blacklisted”. He can be seen on CNN and MSNBC ten times daily. This just shows how deep the deep state really is. It will take generations to drain - if ever.

Brilliance in one arena (counterinsurgency) does not equate to brilliance in all realms of reasoning.
Everything is unprecedented. The attacks on Trump by Brennan certainly are, so they led to Trump unprecedented actions against him, which led to this unprecedented Trump condemnation.... does anyone really care any more? Is anyone still keeping score? This has gone beyond ludicrous....
All because they want Trump unpresidented.
Every one of them who is not currently employed by the government should be required to submit a statement listing specific reasons why they think they should have clearances.
The fact that they currently have clearances is not an acceptable reason.
Any who refuse, or cannot provide reasonable justification, should have their clearances revoked immediately.
In this context, “TS” does not mean “top secret”.
