Why WOULDN'T folks be more drawn to outrage over the numerically larger numbers of wayward souls in the RCC hierarchy than in those smaller, younger, etc. groups?
If one is going to stake out the highest hill as one's divine right to stardom, then one had best be prepared for the cast of thousands of smaller, younger groups challenging your rights to that highest hill.
It is human nature. Not all that admirable in lots of respects but it is certainly a common aspect of human nature.
These are the times that try men's souls. Parading a thin skin in the face of such conflicts and horrors might only attract more bully's to attack.
We are all sinners either saved by Grace in Christ's blood, or not. We all have to confess, repent, take up our cross and follow Him, regardless.
None of our organizations are lily white. None have only paragon saints in the hierarchies.
The rest of Christendom realizes this and has long realized this. imho, the main reason the RCC folks have such a hard time with the search light of publicity shining on their dark dungeons is that too many have bought far too much and intensely into the delusion that the RCC is equal to God in perfection, purity, authority etc. God is revealing that's not been so and is not so.
The reality-testing mental, emotional and spiritual adjustment is, obviously and no doubt very wrenching. But it must needs happen in order for folks to deal in reality vs delusion.
And that process has been and is true for all Christians who have put too much adoration in their organization and it's leaders whether that's been Benny Hinn, Swaggart of this or that Cardinal and his raft of favorite boys.
Ok, for the LAST time, stop talking down to us Catholics. Stop picking at our beliefs.
What religion are you? Think I could find any pastors of that religion who've abused kids? I think I could. Even if I did, I certainly wouldn't be telling you that your beliefs are foolish.
Where in the hell did you get the idea that we Catholics think anything on Earth is equal to God? You might need some better research.And for the love of God, stop telling us to get thicker skins!!

I request that all who post on our thread refrain from divisive evaluations of belief/non belief systems. Discussion of religious content in Q drops may at times require qualifying remarks more directly (e.g., stating instead of just knowing or implying that a faith system is not best represented by those members whom are guilty of revolting crimes).
In real life, we love our friends an family members equally regardless of their embrace (or lack thereof) of any particular belief system - it may take a more conscious effort when posting on our threads to make sure this is clearly conveyed to others reading or posting with us.
