I’ve talked with soldiers who were in Iraq. Every one of them will look you in the eye with firm conviction in those eyes, and unwaveringly declare there most definitely WMDs in Iraq.
Yes they will. Have had many of them say that over the years.
The Iraq Veterans are getting a lot of the same raw deal the Vietnam Veterans got as well...they are told by the left, and some on the right they fought a war that should not have been fought, and they are told they lost because the nation building and ISIS that came after. Which was due to policy that had nothing to do with fighting the war. How do you think and Iraq Veteran feels when he hears he fought a war that was not justified and we lost?
One of my son in laws was deployed to Iraq more than once but not to Afghanistan, he has caught flack from people about “not being in a real war” or fighting an “unjust war” does that sound familiar? The other son in law was deployed to both and people act like he is a hero for going to Afghanistan, they ignore his deployment to Iraq.
These are things that the left uses as a wedge against the military they claim to support. They love to denigrate veterans for their service. They forget, as do many others that the military does not make the decision where to go or why. That decision is made by people elected by we the people. Right or wrong in hindsight our military that has been willing to fight for this country need to all be seen as the heroes they were and are. We send them off to war, then want to blame them when it is we the people that send them.
