Hermeisha - Is that airborne or does it take swapping of bodily fluids?
I have a 2-syllable last name. Somehow, the Hermeisha receptionists invariably manage to tack on about 1 - 3 additional syllables to it when calling me from the waiting room.
E.g., if my last name was "Badger", Receptionist Hermeisha would call out "Badger-erio"?
The rule is, if they’re black, to *have* to hire. Right?!
We had a fellow worker named Richard Ryder. He went by Dick.
Yeah.
That sentence is reason enough.
“Courtney”!
Bwahahahahahaha-hah!
The best punchlines come from no where and everywhere at once.
Thanks for posting that.
I’ve got a non-traditional name and I love it.
My dad first suggested Venclouse Erislovial though. Mom rescued me from that.
Never forget the “t” in “Asst.” either.
“Ive got a non-traditional name and I love it.”
Ditto. My name is Bern. When I was born my father wanted to name me Bjorn. The registrar would not accept it, so he went with Bern, which was for some reason acceptable. (It’s the capital of Switzerland.)
Still, I have had problems because nobody believes the name when I say it. They assume I said Brian and they misheard.
I guess this means you weren’t Bjorn yesterday. /runsaway
LOL - that was great. I love the bird dog at the end, what a cutie.
Back in 1985 while a teen working for Lechmere dept store here in MA i somehow acquired a name tag that read “Mitch Stallone”. I wore that tag all of the time the customers thought i had a wicked cool name lol.
Hermeisha ain’t dat ghetto, yo.
I kinda likes it.
“Robinson wrote in an all-caps post”
“I know Im well qualified for the position as they seen on my resume!”
Hmm, writing in all caps, and saying “they seen” doesn’t assure me as to her qualifications.
Had a kid in the Naval ROTC at my high school. Last name was “Cummer”, and he held the rank of “Seaman”.
He worked very hard to get promoted as fast as possible!
There’s the urban legend about the girl called Fem-AL-ee: on her birth certificate it was spelled “Female”.
She’s cute. I’d have hired her.
I am not aware of any law, regulation or rule requiring the company to declare the reason for rejecting an applicant, either.
