Wisconsin just experienced similar primaries where in the governor’s primary, the Dems had 81,000 more votes for 8 candidates than the republicans did for Scott Walker....Walker might be in trouble.

______________
Walker has a 54%-55% state-wide approval rating. (Trump is in the same ballpark).
The Ds had a slew of candidates including 2 very far-left who appealed to various intersectionalities—one female, one black, both extreme. Walker ran unopposed except by someone no one ever heard of.
The winning Dem is an old white guy Superintendent of Education. Some D primary voters will not vote for him in the midterm.
Many R’s didn’t vote, depending on whether they had a congressional candidate contest. Many might have figured either R Senate candidate would be ok against Baldwin.
The total vote was 22%...2nd highest ever for a primary. My precinct is R and the total was nearly 25% of the eligible voters, which for some reason, counts the Amish, who do not vote here. So, my rural precinct likely voted at a 30% rate.
We have fully functional Voter ID, which will stymie the fraud in Madison, Milwaukee and Eau Claire. Trump has good support in the Duluth-Superior area, normally a D stronghold. Trump & Walker have over 50% each support in La Crosse, normally a D/union town. With a national black support for Trump at 36%, Baldwin cannot count on Milwaukee.
To make it even sweeter, for the first time in 20 years, a Republican is running against Ron Kind in WI-3. State Assembly contest in my district had a female socialist vs. a male moderate farmer on the D side....socialist lost.
Walker will win.
Baldwin faces a savvy conservative woman with State legislative office experience. She has admitted she could lose. Every primary candidate on my ballot who supports Trump, won.
Besides low unemployment, decent progress on holding property tax steady, WI has a fully funded State pension fund. The Ds will run on higher property taxes disguised as enabling the Teacher’s Union ‘for the children’.

The DEMS are busy registering college kids, nursing home residents, etc. in my area.
