Loads OK on my computer. Most should not have a problem.
wanna post a summary of 500 words or less for the great majority of us who don’t have the time to wade through this stuff?
They tested the post-tension rods and did not find a problem. They tested the hydraulic tensioning device and its gauges and did not find a problem. They tested the concrete in several placed and did not find a problem. Looks like the officials are saying there is no problem. The bridge is actually still up there. Those who say it fell down are pushing fake news to divide us.
Actually, there is supposed to be grout filling the post-tensioning tubes (around the post-tensioning rod). This is to help transfer load from the rod to the concrete deck (unless things have changed since I retired). I have not heard of any testing there (or seen it in this report). It seems to me that that would be where the failure would be. Was the grout in there yet? Was it completely filled? Was it cured properly? Was it strong enough? There are no answers to that in this report.
Thanks for posting this, will help save lots of lives going forward.
