he email blares the advertisement in the old language of the franchise: We Hail the Home Opener, it says above logos of the Washington Redskins and the Indianapolis Colts, pushing tickets to the Sept. 16 game at FedEx Field. Tickets are available to that one, and the next week against Green Bay, and in October against Carolina and Dallas and my goodness to every single Washington home football game this year.
Three players are used to make the pitch, with their pictures to the left of those words: Derrius Guice, Alex Smith and Daron Payne. Total snaps played for Washington: zero.

LOL! That’s a good one.
Id take them if they were free. But only on the condition that I didnt actually have to go to any Redskins games.
Talk is the ‘Skins want to move back into D.C. to a new stadium built on the site of RFK. D.C. is probably the only city in the country where he COULD get that done.
More like the tens of thousands. My parents were on the list.
It wasn’t so much the gouging, or the NFL in general that evaporated the list. It was the Boy Owner who has badly mismanage the team for 20 years.
When folks tell me the Skins need to make this personnel move or that strategy move, I tell them only one thing has a chance of lifting the Skins back to their glory years. Fire the owner. Can Dan.
“Reminds me of the old New Orleans Saints joke from the 80s.”
ESPN is showing a segment on Archie Manning.
11 seasons with the Aints and not one winning season to be seen.
They were the joke of the NFL.
Back in the early 70s you couldn’t beg, borrow or steal a Redskins ticket
Sonny Jurgensson, Billy Kilmer, Larry Brown, Mike Bragg, Mike Bass, Manny Sistrunk, Duane Thomas, Charlie Taylor, Curt Knight, Ken Houston...
Just to name a few.
Back in the days when they played real football. I used to love itwhen the Skins went into their two-minute drill.
I don’t watch it anymore.
Remember the fans wearing grocery sacks over their heads so no one would recognize them at a Saints game?
The Aint’s!!
That generation of players is long gone.
I was an Oiler’s fan. Went to a couple of home games when Bum Phillips was the coach.
After a playoff loss to Pittsburgh, the team landed at IAH late on a Sunday night. A huge number of fans met them at the airport to cheer them.
The NFL is a faint shadow of what it used to be.
Symptom? Unsold Redskins tickets in the mostly wealthy and mostly far-left DC area.
Diagnosis? Colin Cancer.
Prognosis? Terminal.
The National Felons League will die from this disease. The sooner, the better. Surprisingly, when you insult your fans, their anthem, their flag, their country, their military, and their ancestors, it doesn’t always work out as well as you might hope. It doesn’t even create a dialogue about the “issue(s)” they claim to want to address; it just sets up a total blockade to communication.
I wouldn’t go if these disrespectful, self-important bums gave me tickets. The he** with the nfl and their blm buddies. This anti-American losers need to suffer.
The NFL isn't going to blow up. What's happening is actually a slow leak, but it's happening. Any other industry with these trends would at least be talking about them in private. Not much sign that even that is happening. And so it goes...
“Remember the fans wearing grocery sacks over their heads so no one would recognize them at a Saints game?”
They could hold up some interesting signs too.
Better to be a piano player in a NO cathouse than be an Aints fan!
When little Johnny was told that he had terminal cancer and less than a year to live he said “Good”.
Not knowing what to think the doctor looked at johnnys parents.
Johnnys mom shrugged and replied “We’re Saints fans”.
Mostly wealthy, far-left types have not generally been their fan base. The fan base has generally been middle class and working class whites and blacks, mostly who grew up in the region. There are several million of us.
But the Boy Owner has alienated most of us, and the Redskins’ death grip on the imagination of those of us who are not part of the politician/lawyer/media/elite class has faded as Snyder has destroyed the team on the field, and frittered away most of the goodwill of the fanbase. The Skins were losing fans way before the Take-A-Knee crowd got started.
Fire the Owner. Can Dan.
Ouch!
On a related note, Baker Mayfield looking good for the Browns against the Giants.
