Predict the next TV Reboot (Vanity)

Posted on 08/06/2018 7:04:22 PM PDT by EdnaMode

With reboots being the biggest craze in Hollywood, it might be fun to predict which classic (and not so classic) shows might be rebooted next.

1. Mister/Miss Ed.

In this reboot, the famed talking horse is gender fluid and trans species. On some days, the horse identifies as male, and others as female. He/she/xe also identifies as a cat, a penguin, and a rooster on occasion.

2. Punky Brewster

In this reboot. Punky, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico is separated from her parents at the border. Her parents are deported and Punky is adopted by Henry, her new foster father.

3. Mary Richards

In this remake of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lena Dunham stars as Mary Richards. Set on election night in 2016, the pilot shows as a staff of journalists coming to grips with the election of Donald Trump.

4. Cheers

In this remake, a group of gay friends gather together at the local gay bar. They must deal with homophobia on a weekly basis. Sam the bartender is gender binary who is addressed as "they" and "them" by "their" colleagues.

5. ER

Set in East Los Angeles, the show features a cast of illegal alien characters who use the local ER as their primary care physician.

6. I Love Lucy

Ricky Ricardo, an undocumented Mexican immigrant and musician, marries Lucy, a transgender aspiring actress. Their landlords are Fred and Ethel, who are undocumented immigrants from Somalia.

7. Saved by the Bell: The Activist Years.

Jessie, Kelly and Lisa, who are now college professors at UCLA, must fight their sexist male fellow professors, who all earn more money than they do.

8. I Married David

Based on the short lived sitcom "I Married Dora." This series features a wealthy man who marries his undocumented housekeeper. This time, the housekeeper is a gay man and MS13 gang member and the two men marry in the pilot.

Yes, but .223 is a caliber of ammo, hence the joke.

The A Team. “Queer Eye” meets “Rat Patrol”. I’ll stop right there.

In the reboot of Benson, the titled character is a wry, acerbic Muslim who becomes the closest aide to the first female President of the United States. Along with Inga, the new President's best friend from her college days as an exchange student in Sweden, the mismatched trio hilariously set out to fundamentally change the country and the world.

Gilligan’s Island

Ginger and Mary Ann are Lesbian lovers. The Professor blames Climate Change for stranding the castaways. They gang up on Thurston Howell, take his wealth and redistribute it amongst the others.

Green Acres

An Imam from Detroit buys a farm in Hooterville and moves there with his four wives. He beheads Mr. Haney for usury and Sam Drucker for selling magazines with womens’ hair and ankles visible on the covers. He leaves Fred Ziffel alone because Arnold the Pig is always with him.

That could probably get the green light for production.

Car 54, Where Are You is a comedy about hapless Broward County Sheriff's Deputies Toody and Muldoon, who always seem to be on the wrong side of town when a crime is reported. In the first episode "High School Confidential," Toody concocts a zany excuse for why they failed to enter a building where students were being shot by an intruder, while Muldoon is concerned that "Sarge" will see through their fibs.

In the revival of All In The Family, Mike Stivic is a retired college professor living in Santa Barbara, California, when his grandson Joe, Jr. moves in with him after being expelled from college for being a conservative and campus violating speech codes. Curmudgeon Mike and questioning "JJ" constantly clash over their world views, causing Mike to recall how he was once like JJ when rebelling against his long-deceased father-in-law. In the opening episode "Get Out Of My Chair!" Mike yells at "meathead" Joe Jr for attending a Trump rally, while JJ calls his grandpa "Snowflake" and storms out the door, leaving Mike worried for his safety.

I’ll have to call it “Married with People-ren” since “children” might trigger those that can’t have children since they hacked off their junk during sex change operations.

Sorry, Room 222 was fully annihilated by a lone wolf school shooter named Ach Med al Bagdhi. The reboot is room 223.

Could also be about a Vegas Police chief who saw and heard nothing unusual when his town was gunned down.

''Combat''. Sgt. Saunders and the squad have to deal with a gay medic and a transgendered lieutenant. In one episode they capture a German soldier who is really a Muslim refugee.

In the reimagined gritty war show Jihad!, sleeper cell leader Chip bin-Saundi and his ragtag crew of freedom-fighters wage a secret campaign of terror against the infidels of America, while trying desperately to not be overcome by the trappings of the decadent American lifestyle. The premier episode "42 Short" introduces the characters as cell members race against the clock to disarm a suicide vest that accidently activates while bin-Saundi tries it on.
