Have you ever heard Brian France speak? He makes LeBron James sound like William F. Buckley (RIP).
He is a joke here in North Carolina. He would be lucky to be cleaning the mechanic’s tools on the third shift if his daddy did not own NASCAR.
NASCAR’s demise and yearly re-tooling of its marketing plan is directly due to Brian France’s inability to see that:
1. The cars bear no relation to “stock cars” that the buying public can purchase
2. The cars are over-powered and go too fast for the tracks, so “restrictor plates” have to be used on superspeedways and that means passing is limited.
3. F1 racing is booming. The Austin Circuit of the America’s track is state of the art. Do more right hand turns and see the crowd get into the action. I have much more fun at Watkins Glen than Charlotte. That means using the aero package to increase braking resistance and downforce, not reduce drag at 200+mph.
4. Stop this silly “Stage Victory” crap. Run a race.
I don’t like F1, btw, since there are only about 10 teams and 8 are in England. Too much reliance on one team having superior technology over the rest.
Rant off.
Why are youi ranting at me?
