You gotta have guards there though. And it’s warm. If you google earth the south Pacific or Atlantic and wander around zooming you’ll find some that are pretty much treeless, rocky, and reasonably sized yet in the neighborhood of 1000 to 2000 miles from the nearest other lands and outside of shipping lanes.
