Police say the boy was hungry and may have mistaken the methamphetamine for cereal.
OUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Seymour, Indiana, man is facing several felony charges after investigators say he refused to call 911 while his 8-year-old son died from eating his stash of methamphetamine.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the incident took place on June 21, 2018, in Jackson County, Indiana.
Police say they were called to a home in the 10800 block of East Country Road 400 North in Seymour, after someone reported that there was a child not breathing. That child was immediately taken to the Schneck Medical Center, where he later died.
Police eventually interviewed the boy's father, Curtis Collman II, who had brought him to the home. He allegedly told officers that his son woke him up early in the morning saying he was hungry and asking for food. Collman said he told his son that there was no food in the home.

I think there is plenty of locally produced meth in that area.
A couple of years ago I drove through Kentucky and kept seeing the same poster every place I stopped. “If you see these five things in your neighbor’s trash, he is running a meth lab. Call this hotline.”
So sad.
I’m not sure of America still produces the best meth in the world.
Yes, I read how this piece of filth kept others from helping the boy--at gunpoint. THAT is what instantly convinced me that he should be fed slowly into a wood chipper.
Even a familys pet is treated with more concern than this child!
Dad(perp), girlfriend, grandmother - no one cared if this child lived or died, just no call for help!
S.O.B. That picture is seriously heartbreaking. looks like a bright kid. His father ( not deserving the title dad) should never see a prison cell. he should be drop tested from 150 feet. I want him to suffer before dying. or slowly strung up.
In the picture it looks like he is laughing and happy at Chuck-E Cheez’s. Like my little guys would have been. :*( At least in Heaven he will never be hungry again. Or hurt, or cold.
It results in an accelerating loss of humanity.
Oh my, he looks so cute and sweet! Reminds me of my son, just a bit younger. Complete with the glasses.
Surely this was a pure child, not totally corrupted by his scumbag sire. His eyes and face say so. Too many times at 8 you can already see the rot rendered by having losers for parents.
I advocate for the death penalty for drug dealers and this just bolsters my opinion
No. Your neighbors could cook up a batch themselves. People aren’t waiting for a Mexican supply.
I know they can cook it up, but I also know I have heard of big meth shipments being stopped coming over the border. I think some of the restrictions on sale of cold medicines and antihistimines OTC make that a little harder and more expensive in the volume they need it.
