They running the place into the ground. Last year they tried to beautify the city by putting WWI statues all over the place which was okay I guess but still there is a drug problem and that does noting to attract business to the town.

The police department moved to a new location in a deal that some question.

Seems Nitro is always in the news for something and it’s not good.

Well I doubt little Nitro can do much to solve the opioid problem that’s so prevalent in similar locales. The inability to attract business has been a state wide problem for years. Nitro it much worse because it was such a one job (chemical industry) town for a long time. There is so little investment money in WV it’s hard to corral enough money to start anything new in manufacturing (Which is what the area desperately needs!). You go outside the state for money, they look at you like your crazy for bringing up the idea of investing in WV. The ill-educated, hillbilly, snaggle-tooth, “form-union-strike-at-the-drop-of-a-hat” image of WV is still out there and hard to overcome. Hopefully Trump can help out!
