One cannot get reliable information one way or the other. The left is more restrictive than any churchs biggest dream. Entire subjects are now off-limits to every reputable scholar or scientist because they may inadvertently offend current social doctrine.
Mankind is a religious creatureeven more so when atheistic. When legitimate studies contradict the accepted social agenda, they are discarded and abandoned with prejudice. The empirical evidence of physical damage due to male homosexual behavior is irrefutable with or without AIDS in the picture. Actuarial data is not available due to the current social climate:

“Actuarial data is not available due to the current social climate”
Actuarial data is not available NOT due to the current social climate, but because it is not reported. Deaths are not recorded at time of death as “gay” or “straight”. Actuaries have no reliable data, anywhere, to provided a reliable “gay” death rate.
Most studies have, true enough, rates of death of HIV infected men, but next to none have accurate figures of the rate of HIV infection among “gay” men.
Often studies are like so: X% of “gay” men in San Francisco visiting medical facilities for examination of possible sex realted disease were shown to have HIV. Then that statistic is abused to say that % represents the % of “gay” men in San Fransico were shown to have HIV. But such a study actually shows nothing of the kind, because he has no data representation to show what % of the total “gay” population in San Fransico is represented by those who visited a medical facility for the reason noted in the study.
Such studies are like saying if 40% of the men vistitng a cardiac care center in San Francisco were shown to have high blood pressure it meant that 40% of the men in San Francisco have high blood pressure. Yet since there would be no reported figure for what % of the male population of San Francisco ever visited such clinics, the 40% figure cannot be ascribed to that total population at all.
