They showed “A Scout is courteous,” but I just think that wasn’t the best time to demonstrate “A Scout is helpful.” They had a schedule to keep, and the two adults were required with the group of boys. There are better occasions to make the point about everyone’s pitching in, which is very important.
If I had needed help, I would have accepted it.
Further considering your original post, the Scout supervisor shouldn’t have acted offended.
Could have been he was trying to show off in front of his scouts.
He should have graciously accepted your declining of his offered help.
