AURORA, Colo. (AP) A man who fatally shot an intruder in his suburban Denver home early Monday was killed by responding officers who saw him holding a weapon, investigators said.
Police received multiple calls about a break-in at the home at about 1:30 a.m., and when officers arrived, they heard gunshots inside, The Aurora Sentinel reported .
Aurora police, who described the scene in a statement as very chaotic and violent, said they encountered an armed man and fatally shot him. That man turned out to be the person who lived in the home. A second man, the suspected intruder, was found dead during a search.

Tell that to The Widow and now Fatherless Child(ren).
IIRC the commieratlibs always say: But if it saves just one Child...
And all the cops heard over comms was the description and AND NOT THAT IT WAS THE HUSBAND SHE WAS DESCRIBING.
Im glad you and yours are safe.
I grew up around west Denver. Colfax and Perry.
Wouldnt want to be around that area these days.
Wow, what are they practicing ‘shoot first, ask questions never’? It seems like they keep treating every situation like active shooter situations.
Another lesson on why conservatives need to elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff in their counties. Then when the liberal city cops show up at a shooting scene, the sheriff can direct the cops to set up roadblocks 1,500 yards down the road and chew their cuds.
Aurora, in Arapahoe county, where the prior Sheriff is in jail for drugs and homosexual pedophilia.
These idiots refuse to understand that unarmed officers will amount to more crime not less. Rules of engagement and politics have killed and injured many front line people who are first res ponders.
The shooting was in Adams County, not Arapahoe County.
I take it you don’t know the area.
Aurora is primarily Arapahoe county. Only a the most northern part of Aurora is in Adams.
That might make you technically correct, but that’s just the nerd talking.
The the DA for the 17th Judicial District is responsible for the investigation — that’s why I said Adams County.
You’re only “technically” correct! LOL

Still, it seems like a really bad shoot.
The other night, county sheriff swat arrested the guy next door. They kept calling for him to come out until he finally did.
I was worried that they would TV it, kick the door in, and bullets would fly, but in the end no shots were fired. It took a couple of hours, but I think they handled it well.
I hear ya and thanks.
This is in Adams.
I’m only 10 minutes from my mom, but my county is Arapahoe and hers is Adams.
