Hundreds of passengers on a Norwegian Air flight at Orlando International Airport (MCO) were forced to deplane Sunday night after a male flyer made a hoax bomb threat because he was upset about his seat.
According to the Orlando Police Department, fellow passengers on the plane bound for London overhead the unidentified man make a comment about a bomb because he was unhappy about his seat. Police responded to a call from the planes gate (87 at MCO) just as the flight was preparing to close its doors and pull away from the gate.
All 333 passengers and 12 crew members were asked to deplane while officials searched the plane for an explosive device. Authorities say nothing suspicious was found, and passengers were allowed back on for a delayed takeoff to London. The incident began at about 5:52pm and the plane finally took off at 8:35pm, airport officials say.
The man who made the threat was questioned by police and handed over to the FBI for further investigation. Two other passengers were also questioned by law enforcement. Its not clear if the man was allowed to re-board the plane with the rest of the passengers.
A similar but far more dramatic situation occurred on board a United flight. A male passenger who was running late for his flight decided to call in a hoax bomb threat to delay his plane from Cincinnati to Dallas in October 2017. On Thursday, that man was sentenced to four months in prison, three months probation and forced to pay a $7,700 fine as restitution to United.
YES
THEY
CAN!
The father of a high school buddy used to tell the story of his (one & only) flight. This took place around the time of the notorious sky-jacking by DB Cooper. He had a heart condition and needed some water to wash down the pills.
So he called out to the stewardess. She couldn’t understand him over the droning of the engines. So he tried asking again, this time a bit louder. still no luck so, with pill bottle held high he shoulted out “I need water for my Nitro Glycerin!”
It was his unfortunate timing that the engine noise abated and everyone on the flight heard him - loud and clear.
I fly Norwegian regularly to Europe. One can economize tremendously, the seats are comfortable, and most important is that Norwegian staff treat you like good customers, not like cattle to be herded into cattle pens. I’ve been flying since 1950 and there are few carriers I haven’t used. IMO Norwwegian is the best value for the best flight to Europe today. AND Norwegian flies the Boeing Dreamliner which is the best plane in the air today, healthwise and comfortwise. I’ve flown to Sweden, Denmark, Norway, France and England on Norwegian. There is a reason Norwegian is voted the best low cost carrier in Europe year after year. I have never had a bad flight with Norwegian.
Overall, Norwegian ran a professional and efficient if not always the smoothest operation. On the basis of this flight, Id place Norwegian above most domestic carriers, slightly below JetBlue and well below top international airlines like Cathay Pacific and JAL. For a low-cost carrier, it was very solid, better than we expected and certainly cheaper than any other available option. Id fly Norwegian again without hesitation.
Yep. Americans (in general) are going down in history as the biggest dumba$$e$ in history.
Don’t know why that made me think of this.

Exchange between Frankfurt ground control and a British Airways 747, call sign Speedbird 206.
Speedbird 206: “Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of active runway.”
Ground: “Speedbird 206. Taxi to gate Alpha One-Seven.”
The BA 747 pulled onto the main taxiway and slowed to a stop.
Ground: “Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?”
Speedbird 206: “Stand by, Ground, I’m looking up our gate location now.”
Ground (with quite arrogant impatience): “Speedbird 206, have you not been to Frankfurt before?”
Speedbird 206 (coolly): “Yes, twice in 1944, but it was dark, — And I didn’t land.”
“Thats being very soft on terrorism.”
I’d make him sit in an Airbus coach seat for a year. The fool would never walk again!

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you there. I think we have a lot of dumba$$e$, but the world is filled with them. Look how many dumba$$e$ around the world, loved Obama. They cant be too bright.
Id make him sit in an Airbus coach seat for a year. The fool would never walk again!
