Tim Saenger said he was “still in shock” Monday, days after a surveillance video showed the burning and destruction of the large elephant statue that had stood for decades outside his home in unincorporated Leyden Township.
Saenger said his father brought the statue from Wisconsin to Northlake in 1986.
It remains unclear why anyone would target the elephant, Saenger said.
“We don’t have enemies or beef with people,” he said. “Most like me and my family.”
Saenger said that people at times would associate the elephant with the Republican Party, and he hoped it wasn’t a politically motivated attack. Saenger said the statue has nothing to do with his family’s political ideology and said the statue was more of a “quirky” purchase made by his father.

Initially I thought it might have just been a juvenile delinquent (aka yoot) on a breaking spree, but returning after 30 minutes to complete the failed initial attempt indicates a real purpose and intent. The casualness of destroying other people’s property is a signpost of how our society has regressed from civil virtues.

Most are unaware of the event, if they were... a groundswell of demand for transport, lodging tickets...
And in a year or so Burning Man would be over.

If they could only catch the guy and lock him in stocks right where the statue stood, with a couple of baskets of spoiled vegetables nearby for anyone wanting to chuck them, letting him live on bread and water in the weather for a couple weeks and whatever rotten tomato juice he can catch in his mouth when kids hurl tomatoes at him.
Probably made from fiberglass, able to withstand weather and wear but not gasoline. The smoke was black, which it wouldn’t be if it were paper. Must have smelled lovely.

The people making the claim (accusation) are the ones who must provide the proof of guilt.
Proof? The MSM and the DEMs don’t need proof. Trump is evil, and the ends justify the means. By the time the lie has been exposed, the MSM and the DEMs are already onto the next bogus claim.
