There is a principle of contrast which says that if you line up the ugly, scowling, frazzled haired Bernie and the other ugly men (Clapper, Mueller) in the public eye, then by contrast Ocasio is supposedly, allegedly ok. Not to me, of course. There is a section on the Anthony Robbins Power Talk cds about that.
A pleasant looking woman may chat amiably with several men in the room and then Melania comes in. The same woman is now ordinary and overlooked.
