NO-Dresses involve underwear Kilts Dont First of all, I'm a Catholic schoolgirl, so to me kilts are everyday apparel. And underwear is not optional.
Oh my my, everyday before school my mom would check to make sure I was wearing a slip and not my blue jean cutoffs. I'd pass her inspection, and then pull the shorts on on my way to school. Girls in slips don't play football and kickball and do cartwheels and handstands. Girls in slip were boring.
As a "Catholic schoolgirl". more than likely, you are/were wearing a
Kilt SKIRT -- which, structurally and functionally, is in no way like a male's
KILT or phillibeg (a.k.a. phille-bheagh, feilidh-beag, or "little kilt").
FYI, I wear the KILT/B> -- in one of the Macpherson tartans -- and it is all of the following:
- Eight yards of "to the line" military-pleated heavy wool tartan
- Scottish Attire (Not a "costume" or "school uniform")
- Always worn with a belt and Sporran -- matched to the occasion
- Proper "Day Wear" -- with a sports jacket or sweater and/or a suitable shirt
- The most formal of possible attire -- equaling or surpassing "white tie and tails" -- when worn with the "Prince Charlie" cutaway jacket and suitable acoutrements
- Battle Dress -- including the 18" Dirk -- and "Sgian Dubh", borne in one stocking top.
- Undergarment? "Whatever suits the Scotsman --more or (commonly) less..."
