Are you grumpy today? What’s the problem?
Getting rid of the mullahs, which you replied to, is by definition regime change in Iran. Your complaint is that the MSM criticized Trump for the same thing in NK, but my comment is that the distinction is that we can reasonably achieve regime change in Iran, while we can’t in NK.
Meeting with them, in NK or Iran, does, to some extent, mean that we are recognizing them as the proper party to do business with. That does not mean we agree that they are the “legitimate” government, but that they will be around for a while so we have to accept them. If we have to accept the Mullahs, then the message will be that so do the people in the streets. It is a concern, since I really look forward to ridding the world of those Mullahs.
No more coffee today, OK?

While this is true, it is also stuck in the paradigm of old, stale, thinking. Any perceived lift they would get from meeting with Trump could easily be countered and more by his subsequent actions, comments, and Twitter feed. Also, if they believe a meeting give them status, they could be more open to accepting whatever we want them to accept.
Your concern for this seems to come from the John Kerry (and many others) school of thought.
I guess hearing people parrot the MSM especially on this particular thread, just brings out that reaction.
Despite threatening to pull out of the June 12 summit between US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un, North Korea craves the legitimacy the meeting would bring.
Traveling by plane to a neutral destination away from the Korean Peninsula could show Kim as a competent world leader.
That would add to the level of legitimacy granted by Kim just being able to meet with Trump, regardless of the location or outcome.
