I remember back in the 50s I had an aunt who wore heels with slacks——everyone would titter behind her back because ballerina flats were the “in” thing. We all thought she looked ridiculous.

While it’s rare that I laugh as how some people dress, it does happen.
Usually, I figure that whatever works for them is fine, as long as it’s decent.
I still can’t fathom how someone can walk in heels like that.
I’ve tried and it was NOT successful.
I’m sure she is.
I used to wear jeans or slacks with heels in the 70’s and 80’s, - almost always matching shoes and purses. Even my sandals were wedges.
I didn’t start wearing flats of any kind except my riding boots until I started working in a library in the mid 90’s.
