“Well, I love mayo ... AND Hellman’s really is the best.”
Hellman’s truly is “the best”, i.e., on the other side of the country the same mayo’s label is the “Best” brand.
I despise mayo, so mayonnaise ice cream is not an option for me.
I understand. I despise ketchup.
I first moved out of my home in my late teens. That was the last time I bought a bottle. It remained unused. At times, Chinese recipes will call for a tablespoon or two so I keep a couple of “to-go” packets around just in case.
When Umani Burger opened in LA years ago, they had just one store on La Brea ... so I went for lunch. Besides the burger, which was good, I ordered a “pickle plate” since I love pickles. But they made a big deal about their ketchup which was presented in a Chinese soup spoon places carefully on the plate.
I did not touch it.
The waiter came by to chastise me because I had rejected their creative process. He contended that I could not appreciate the burger without the ketchup.
I forgave them and still go too their many stores, but still do not eat ketchup.
