People backing away are not preparing for a round house kick to the face. The shooter screwed up in multiple ways BEFORE pulling his gun. He also screwed up AFTER he pulled his gun. If you kill someone who didn’t need killing, you ought to be prepared for some consequences.
Not a fan of, “I was knocked down. I was scared. So I shot a guy who was retreating!”
So when the guy knocks you down, and your dizzy from the vicious assault, and he backs up to get a running start for a vicious head kick, or moves to circle you to slam you head from behind, you wouldn’t shoot. Very Good. Good for you.
Apparently you have never seen a fight.
I saw a guy get sucker punched. His glasses driven into his face, a bloody mess. The attacker then backed off, circled, looking for the second shot to the face, and then took it, smashing his nose and crushing it to the side of his face. You could hear the bones in his face fracture. It was one of the most brutal things I have ever seen in my life.
You have no clue how these attacks can play out.
