Yep, the aftermarket. After an almost 3 point gain in regular trading today, Facebook is down 44 points in the aftermarket. That's a 21% drop.
Thanks for bringing that possibility to the front of minds here. If broadband and cellular go down most everyone here will be disconnected from each other. One of the things that has always been a huge asset of this site is the amount of observant Freepers who are often “Johnny on the spot” for breaking news and local to them goings on.
We’ll be bereft of our fellows input and coordination and that will probably be unsettling for some.
In ones local area, short of braving traffic and possible chaos, you’d be out of touch with family, friends, employers/employees and local authorities. Having a pair or more of short range hand held radios can mitigate some of this. We’re still on copper land line here so that might be an avenue of communication available, but those circuits are probably going to be hammered with volume.
This is something to think about. Communications out, when you think about it, could be as bad or nearly so to electric grid down. It might not kill as many people right off the bat, but lack of broadband and cellular will have some immediate, serious economic impacts.
Cash on hand will definitely be a must. Things will still work, but you won’t be tapping, sliding in or swiping for any transactions for X amount of hours or days.
I believe this counteroffensive has been brewing since at least the 80’s. I think the Eagle coin minting act was part of it, but I bet most of the early work and conceptualization was oriented towards seeking out bright young patriotic types working through the system that didn’t have familial ties or society ties to the cabal core.
Once the internet began to take off and the scope and magnitude of the possibilities available dawned on good guys they probably began to see the trend lines converging in the future at a point where the capabilities of technological authoritarianism would outweigh any ability to resist it, and they had their hard planning not-to-exceed deadline mapped out for them.
Like during some of our historical military occurrences, in this conflict it is almost a [or is?] divine intervention that the opposition did not game or seriously consider the implication of losing control over the information network to their plans. In one fell swoop this appears to have thwarted the attempt to cripple the one strongest, most individual oriented force on the planet. Their stupidity is up at that level that makes you think “what am I missing here?!?!” (Hopefully nothing!)
Access and eventual control of this destroyed their means of defeating a strong, charismatic leader/patriot and their house of cards appears to be crumbling at an astounding rate.
Make no bones about it though, we are going to be digging up physical and digital artifacts from this effort to enslave mankind for years. These people are going to have caches, trusts, buried corporate structures, foundations, like minded heirs and followers that will scheme and fester for decades if not found. They are penultimate long-game players. It’s something we’ll need to pick up on...

Well I doubt the ‘symbol’ is indicative of anything bad, but to suggest rather aggressively that these set ups are not trouble in other areas is a bit rude.
My kid is as robbed at one in Italy and there have been plenty of incidents.

Either Q et al are not worried about the midterms and Rs will retain the House and Senate, or there will be massive legal issues clicked into place to sway moderates, NeverTrumpers, and even liberals (#WalkAway), to vote R. Is there such a high degree of confidence in the midterms going Trump’s way that there is no longer urgency in dropping the Q hammer(s) - and mass arrests - we have all been waiting for?
