Donald Trump: I ‘Can’t Believe’ NFL National Anthem Debate Continues
Breitbart ^ | 20 Jul, 2018 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 07/20/2018 8:24:14 PM PDT by MtnClimber

“The NFL National Anthem Debate is alive and well again – can’t believe it!” Trump marveled on Twitter. “Isn’t it in contract that players must stand at attention, hand on heart?”

Trump commented on the story after the NFL released a statement putting the new rule requiring players to stand for the national anthem on hold while they continued to negotiate with the NFL Players Association.

Trump mocked NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for failing to enact a solution and proposed his own penalties for players who refused to stand for the national anthem. “The $40,000,000 Commissioner must now make a stand,” he wrote. “First time kneeling, out for game. Second time kneeling, out for season/no pay!”

It’s an interesting, and politically unremarkable diversion that can be reintroduced as needed.

It is a poke in the eye of the left that wants to tear down USA norms. They are trying and they are getting poked in the eye. Enjoy.

If the NFL gets a certain amount funds from the government, Trump should just withdraw it citing cause of breach of contract.

No flyovers, no military presenters, and no honor guards.

Let the NFL start playing rap and hip hop before games, during commercial breaks and at halftime Nothing would drive the honkies away faster than the sounds of the NBA type of rah rah c r a p playing at ear splitting volumes, which is where they are headed. The Seahawks have music BLASTING during practices, and inside the locker rooms nearly all the time. It is the wave of the future they are running towards.

“I wish he would forget about the NFL...Much bigger fish to fry.”

Some of us APPRECIATE a president who hits back when a bunch of race-baiting spoiled brats get IN OUR FACES when we simply want to watch what used to be the national sport...

...and, I guess, some of us do not.

I agree, time to just ignore the NFL, at this juncture, I don’t care what they do anymore, I’m over it.

The league, in its efforts to try to “bail out” the players and the players association, has not accomplished anything but hardened more people against the league.

The act of “I’m sorry we didn’t know we were putting down the flag and those that gave so much to defend it,” didn’t float because it was disingenuous (for those of you in San Francisco that means a lie). Putting them in the locker rooms for those that didn’t want to participate in a proper flag ceremony didn’t work because they couldn’t get their “point” across without having to actually talk to someone of authority as they are cowards and can’t be up front about their complaints.

Let the league be recognized for what it is being used for. An opportunity to try to point out the mistakes or unlawful acts of a series of racial situations when one not mentioned is killing their own faster than it can be accomplished in their complaint.

Mathew 7:3

Contemporary English Bible Version

“You can see the speck in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the log in your own eye.”

Luke 4:23 (King James Version):

And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

The phrase alludes to the readiness and ability of physicians to heal sickness in others while sometimes not being able or willing to heal themselves. The players are able, they just aren’t willing. They don’t have the integrity to admit being wrong, being guilty or just plain stupidity. And they are being paid millions of dollars yearly that most people will never see in their entire lives. To play a game.

As a soccer fan, I am very happy to say that at the recent World Cup, nobody took a knee, or raised a fist, and EVERY player sang their national anthem.

The BLMPA is now in charge of the post-NFL. The “owners” can’t enforce the regulations or decide how the “players” who “work” for them should behave while “at work”. I’d like to see the “owners” cancel the upcoming season. Let these spoiled, hate-filled wretches figure out what they’re going to do without their ridiculous paychecks. To hell with them.

The Anti-Trust laws can threaten the NFL. It does not get any federal money but states provide a considerable amount.

Really? I disagree. I believe he underestimated early in his Presidency, but he clearly knows now. Truth be told, I think we’ve all be enlightened and appalled at how horrible the DC swamp is. Who would have thunk it in the USA?

C'mon, you still haven't figured out what Trump is doing here?

How about reading Sun Tzu's "The Art of War". It is a quick read and will give you a good handle on how Trump thinks.

Winners pick the battlefield--that is the first key rule here.

In this case the battlefield is the football field and the NFL--football is the dominant spectator sport in the US.

To the extent political propaganda is a part of the NFL, what will the message be, and who will decide what it is.

The owner's decide, and Trump is at war with the owners.

Initially the owner's sided with the lefty virtue-signaling protesting players--until this year.

After the fans started to boycott the owners are slowly beginning their retreat with new rules.

Trump knows the owners cannot and will not enforce those rules so the war is not over--it has just begun.

Sun Tzu--now that you have the enemy trapped on your battlefield--attack, attack, attack.

Every time a new protest happens this season Trump will humiliate the owners with a new Tweet.

By next year or the year after that they will have to admit failure, fire Goodell (breaking his contract), and hiring a new Commissioner who truly has zero tolerance for lefty protestors on the field.

The enemy never goes away by itself--it must be crushed on the battlefield.

What does this do for Trump?

Not only does he obtain a major victory in the culture wars but he defeats a bunch of powerful folks (owners) and creates both fear and respect in all future adversaries.

Winners win.

Losers lose.

Then he may not need to fight the next war....because no-one will want to mess with him.

Giving the media stupid stuff to opine and bloviate over. He’s also backhandedly giving them good ratings. So they have to like him cuz they a bunch of $ lusters. At the same time he treats them with great disdain....and carries on with solid economic and policy ideas and decisions. If the media would report straight facts and saved their opinions for later...but they need the ratings...they could save their credibility...which is lower than whale caca.

“I wish he would forget about the NFL”
“Much bigger fish to fry”

My comment honestly was more about the POTUS taking a break from conflict than it was about football. I should have made that clear and yes I know I’m dreaming. :)

I completely agree that NFL players should not take a knee and feel he has made his point clear.

Geaux New Orleans Saints. Who dat!

Bear in mind, Mr. Trump owned a USFL team.

Explains the interest, methinks.

I have a hard time understanding how a league allows players to dictate how they operate and is apparently afraid to address the issue and put a stop to it. I have no respect for players and teams that continue this. Roger Goodell needs to grow a pair and stop it.

NFL — stand up to the players and put an end to kneeling for the anthem with fines to the player and the team that escalate as players continue to disrespect the flag. Shut them down completely.
