My bet is the vast majority of the dogs involved in attacks on humans were not obtained from reputable breeders. IOW, breeders not involved in dogfighting. If we started prosecuting anyone involved in any way with dogfighting, including people who breed and/or sell dogs for it, we’d have far fewer killer pit bulls.
Excellent point about most pit attacks come from unregistered breeders. unfortunately, most pit bull puppies dont get their full temperament until they are about 2 years old. what breeder is going to hold a pit bull for 2 years before they sell them. And how many generations of pits will it take to breed out the agressiveness? the breed pair may be excellent dogs, but genetics runs deeper than one generation.
