This find is really fascinating, considering that it was a sealed structure. Looking at the water marks, there seems to be way too much ‘grave juice’ for just three bodies. Was it a septic tank, where three bodies were claudestinely disposed of before sealing? Why use such an (what would have been) expensive container? Are we looking at a 2,000 year old murder mystery? Were they Nubians? Were they Egyptians? I can’t wait for the DNA results. Quite the stinky mystery!
I’m thinking that this could get good. It does not seem to fit the profile of past Egyptian finds that I know of. Maybe the bones are from grave robbers who were caught, ripped off, and disposed of in the sarcophagus. It will be interesting if the bones are not near as old as the sarcophagus itself.
