Keyboard cowboy. Probably wouldn’t do anything useful in that situation
“Keyboard cowboy. Probably wouldnt do anything useful in that situation”
Typical ignorant comment, and easily made by an ignorant person such as yourself.
If you had any idea what shooting through a slanted glass window does to bullet trajectories you wouldn’t support such stupid actions.
The only cowboy was the dumb cop shooting through his windshield. That was reckless.

OK cowboy, tell us all exactly what it does. I’ll tell what the result was. The chase was over quickly, one perp dead one wounded. You are one of the folks quick to criticize but really slow to offer a better solution. I’ll wait for your detailed facts about what a windshield does at point blank range to the trajectory of a bullet
I suspect that the officer’s motive was to establish some return fire, not for the purpose of actually putting lead on target, but suppressing the attack from the fleeing vehicle.
There is a lot of science on the effect of gunshots though glass and I doubt it supports the officer’s actions. I wouldn’t call it reckless, but I seriously doubt it was consistent with his training.

Cite your sources (mythbusters?) I’ll cite the video. The cop chased these perps for over four minutes and kept his cool driving one handed while keying mic, giving coherent info and not wrecking. After he fired through the windshield at near point blank range, chase was over in about one minute or less. No residual casualties either
The cop isn’t helping the matter of stray bullets by firing his own. We already know that people might be injured by stray bullets from the perp. No sense in adding to the mess.
