“God is in the business of making new creations out of fallen people.”
True, but that is beside the point.
Hey Michael, good to see you're still around here. i'm a fan.
As to your point, the link to the article seems to think just the opposite since they cite that passage. i merely followed the grand FR tradition of not reading the article before i posted.
i had to see what kind of narrow minded anti-gospel trash the article was pushing and it was the usual anti-gospel trash that substitutes the sovereignty of God for mechanistic works that are worthless.
Fact is according to Romans 1:18-32, we're all "born that way", whatever "that way" means to any particular individual.
i have to wonder what the original poster would think of one such as Dr. Rosaria Butterfield.
To more immediately address your point though:
On the contrary, my comment is very relevant. It is relevant because this person is advocating a visible standard, without looking at what God has done in the life of the sinner in question...that is to say every human being on the face of the earth.
i detect the unique stench of Bill Gothard in the teaching advocated by this article, in that the woman described is probably living at her parent's home --about the only way for a young, unmarried woman to live debt free these days, particularly if attending college.
i have to wonder whether the same standards are applied to men.
