I watched FP3 on DVR, then caught Q1 live and saw Hamilton go out with hydraulic issues and turned off the TV in disgust and made my post here. (It was also being DVRed, so I knew I could still watch all of the qualifying later.)
I turned it back on just in time to catch the final 3 minutes of Q3 and saw Botas set fastest qualifying lap, only to have Vettel beat the time by a full two tenths only moments later!
Very exciting (if disappointing from a Mercedes fan perspective) qualifying session. Ferrari certainly has found their mojo again, with a 1-3 qualifying finish, with Mercedes splitting them, followed by a Red Bull and Haas.
It will be fun at the start tomorrow to watch Hamilton and Ricciardo work their way up from the back of the pack. Usually one good driver can fairly quickly work his way back up to the front (like Hamilton did at Silverstone) but with the two of them together in competitive cars, they may race each other more than they concentrate on overtaking the slower cars.
was it you told me about this book?
if not, it’s a must read.
