I have family members who do this... they rent out their house and live on their boat. When they get bored they sail off to South America or someplace... I agreed to keep their birds for the first two years since birds can be very noisy on a sailboat. So far they love it. Works for them - works for me. Another couple in the family did the same thing - even before they retired. They loved the lifestyle.

One of my buddies is a prepper. His boat is crammed with the essentials. His plan is the sail away one, off to one of the uninhabited Bahamanian islands and drop anchor.
