He’s absolutely right. The pussification rules passed a few years ago (no targeting, launching or horsecollar tackling) have dramatically worsened the game. Hard hits are supposed to be what football is all about.

The CTE issue is far from proven. So far all they have are a small self selected group of longtime NFL players who thought they had the condition. That’s hardly a random sample and says nothing about College or High School players who haven’t taken nearly as many hits and haven’t hit nearly as hard as NFL players are routinely subject to.

The sport has been played not for years, not for decades but for generations. If it were “that” bad....if it led to an epidemic of brain damage, don’t you think we would have noticed it by now? Generations of players have played the sport, gone on to have full lives, grown old and died. Its not like we have no data. We are talking about literally tens of millions of American men who have played over the course of 4-5 generations of football.

Yet because of some sensationalist reporting about a group of NFL players who already thought they had a problem, we are to ruin the sport? Ridiculous. By the way....the league minimum salary in the NFL is $440,000 annually. If you feel the risk is too great, then the solution is simple. Just forego that money and don’t play. The rest assume the risk. They are damned well compensated for it.

So true. Additionally they are ignoring the possibility that a lot of the brain damage could be caused by the rampant use of steroids by pre-high school to pro players. Roid rage, personality changes, brain damage?

I don’t believe for a second that hard hits make you commit crimes like the NFL thugs and their scumbag lawyers always try to tell us. If that were true, Steve Young and Joe Montana (two guys that left the game because of concussions) would’ve been caught running drugs and robbing stores while on parole. I don’t doubt that getting hit in the head is bad for you but it makes you commit crime? That’s completely assinine.
