Must’ve hit him in the pocketbook.
I think Newt got a real backlash for his outrageous statement.

On the Fox News YouTube channel, there were a lot of negative comments against Newt, below a video of an interview he did today on Fox & Friends
Certainly seemed odd for Newt to open his big mouth after President Trump made Calista Gingrich the ambassador to the Vatican.
This is why Trump didn’t give Newt a job in the administration.
Newt said something to the effect that everyone should be satisfied with Trump's correction.

By definition almost, a president can’t publicly express no confidence in any of his agencies since he’s in charge of them.
Now Trump explains that he misspoke. Maybe that fixed things up for Newt. I was surprised that he spouted off so quickly. Must have wanted Trump to calm the waters quickly.
