It’s unfortunate that we are so cynical about the press but I think it’s warranted.

Oprah gives a car to everyone in her audience. Some complain it was not free as they had to pay taxes and registration.

That actually happened.

Problem is, a lot of time the winners don’t have the several thousand dollars in cash necessary to pay the taxes on the prizes.

This often on game shows where people win a lot of prizes but not much cash. So they have to sell some/all of the prizes just to the taxes on them.
